PPC digitalises the heat transition

What is the heat transition?. Around half of all energy consumption in Germany falls within the heating sector, with district heating being a major component. The increasing electrification of this energy source is creating both direct impacts on the electricity supply and indirect synergies in the digitalisation of the energy transition as a whole. This affects not just decentralised systems such as heat pumps.

500 submetering devices deployed in the field

The current rollout of smart metering systems is not only creating a basis for the remote reading of measured values, but also a future-proof infrastructure for a more flexible, digitalised energy world. In submetering in particular, models from many different manufacturers need to be read and billed. PPC has developed the "CLS Adapter Submetering", now in its second generation, for this purpose.

Electric cars as electricity storage

User-friendly solutions for bidirectional e-vehicles are being developed in the "Bidirectional charging management" research project. A position paper addresses the question of how e-cars can be used as mobile electricity storage units. The SMGW plays a central role in this.

Grid monitoring through Big Data and AI – Research project takes the next step

“Sensors in the Grid” (Fühler im Netz or FiN) a government funded research project has entered its second phase. Based on the finding of the first “Fühler im Netz”, FiN 2.0 will verify large-scale solutions to monitoring grid conditions by means of Big Data and artificial intelligence. The project kick-off took place on 25.06.2019 at the offices of Power Plus Communications (PPC) in Mannheim, Germany.
