Energy Metering Becomes the First Metering Point Operator to Sign an SMGWplus Contract with PPC
With the SMGWplus, Energy Metering aims to further advance the digitization and scaling of its rollout. At the same time, the solution lays the groundwork for new and existing B2B partnerships. The company has set a goal of digitizing more than 1 million metering points in the coming years. The SMGWplus expands the functionality of the smart meter gateway beyond mere meter reading transmission. Room for big ideas: PPC builds new test and demo center
Spanning more than 100 m², the center provides a modern environment for development and live demonstrations of the intelligent metering system, CLS components, communication technologies, and the Network Management System (NMS). With more than 1,000 test stations, the entire spectrum from interoperability to development support can be covered.
Digital controllability check: SISSY consortium demonstrates a new approach to verifying controllability
With its digital control check based on intelligent metering systems (iMSys), the SISSY consortium is demonstrating a new, scalable method for verifying the controllability of generation plants. This approach makes it possible to verify basic controllability efficiently, in a manner that benefits the grid, and without the need for physical intervention or test-based curtailment of renewable generation capacity.
PPC Kundentreffen 2026: Award for successful SMGWplus EEBUS SHIP pairing interoperability tests
The energy management systems from Solar Manager and TQ-Systems have been successfully validated for interoperability with the SMGWplus from PPC. Both partners support the new and secure EEBUS SHIP Pairing and have demonstrated successful interoperability through extensive testing. In recognition of this successful implementation, Solar Manager and TQ-Systems were presented with the PPC connect Award at the PPC Kundentreffen 2026.
