Nuremberg relies on BPL for its Smart Meter rollout
The Nuremberg-based energy company N-ERGIE has come to a positive conclusion after months of the first joint pilot project with PPC and its service subsidiary, Coms4Grid. Thanks to PPCs Broadband Powerline (BPL) communication technology, the roll-out of smart meters in Nuremberg and Hüttenheim is taking place in both urban and rural areas.

PPC CEO Ingo Schönberg welcomes the end of the stalemate on smart metering regulations as decided by the BNetzA. "Finally!! I am very confident that the BNetzA will now tackle solutions with the industry in a timely manner and set the course for metering via the iMSys from 2023," he said.
