CLS Adapter Steuerung 2.0 passes comprehensive testing for standards-compliant EEBUS communication and interoperability.
Mannheim, September 14, 2026: Power Plus Communications AG (PPC) is the first provider to successfully complete the new EEBUS certification. The CLS Adapter Steuerung 2.0, running firmware version 3.0.0, passed the certification testing at the independent EEBUS Living Lab Cologne. This confirms that, within the certified scope of functionality, the PPC solution meets the requirements of the EEBUS specifications and interoperates seamlessly with other EEBUS-certified devices.
The new EEBUS certification goes significantly beyond the previous EEBUS pilot qualifications. While these primarily focused on individual use cases such as LPC and LPP, the EEBUS certification now evaluates, for the first time, the technical implementation of the relevant EEBUS specifications at both protocol and application level. In addition to the relevant use cases LPC (Limitation of Power Consumption) for Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and LPP (Limitation of Power Production) for Section 9 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), the certification also covers the underlying network communication, the standardized EEBUS data model, and the automated SHIP Pairing Service. Only the interaction of all these layers confirms that a product can be reliably integrated into an EEBUS infrastructure across different manufacturers.
Testing is carried out using the specially developed EEBUS Tester at the Living Lab Cologne against the standards of the EEBus Initiative e.V. The certificate is issued by EEBUService GmbH as the official certification body. The certification represents an important building block for the rollout of digital control and the large-scale deployment of the digital interface. The solution was implemented in cooperation with KEO.

For customers and partners, the certification provides independent proof of interoperability and reduces integration risks when combining different EEBUS components. In addition, the EEBUS “Power Limitation” certification also ensures support for automated commissioning via the SHIP Pairing Service, providing the basis for simpler and more secure commissioning.
At the same time, PPC is reinforcing its role as a pioneer in introducing new standards for digital control using intelligent metering systems. Following the CLS Adapter Steuerung 2.0, the SMGWplus and the EEBUS Relay Converter (ERC), developed jointly with Weidmüller, are also expected to undergo the new certification process in the near future.
