The TAF 10: How the smart meter gateway becomes the most important sensor in the power grid
TAF 10 is the function of the smart meter gateway that goes far beyond mere billing and makes the gateway the central component for transparency in the smart grid. It turns the smart meter gateway into a standardized sensor in the distribution network—not just in specific areas, but across the board.
Tenant electricity on the rise – scalability thanks to standards, 1:n and sector bundling
The upward trend is clear. With each measurement concept adopted, both project planners and grid operators are learning how to get tenant electricity to end users more quickly. At the same time, switching processes are becoming more standardised with simplifications such as the AHB Strom2.1 from the Federal Network Agency. Innovations such as the Solar Peak Act also address the requirements for grid-friendly integration, thus setting the necessary course for tenant and neighbourhood electricity for the coming years.
1.2 million SMGWs in the PPC network management system – a significant milestone for secure communication
Over 1.2 million smart meter gateways (SMGWs) have now been successfully integrated into our network management system – and the trend is rising! How do the smart meter gateways find their way onto the platform? Through the NMS Connector app. This enables on-site technicians to assess the success of the installation and the NMS integration at a glance and document it directly in the app.
Robotron and PPC demonstrate interoperability between SMGWplus and GWA
Robotron Datenbank-Software GmbH, Solar Manager and PPC have successfully demonstrated a solution for the digital control of plants. This enables grid operators and other market participants to implement control commands for limiting generation and consumption. The implementation was carried out using existing systems and devices available today, which shows that this complete solution is already available to the broader market.
