Mannheim, 26th of November 2025 – Power Plus Communications AG (PPC) has successfully completed the recertification of its CLS Adapter Submetering. This means that the adapter submetering not only continues to meet the BSI’s security and interoperability requirements for the rollout of smart metering systems, but also functions in the same way as the CLS adapter control system certified in February this year. This is an important step towards establishing a multifunctional platform with smart value-added services in the rollout.
From individual solution to platform: CLS becomes the heart of digital business models
With the new certification, PPC’s CLS portfolio is evolving into a comprehensive platform for multi-use case applications in rollout. Energy suppliers, network operators and submetering service providers can rely on and access a powerful, interoperable and fully certified system. This makes application areas beyond mere data transmission even more scalable.
- Submetering for digitised properties – the basis for housing services, tenant electricity and energy sharing
- Integration of energy management systems (EMS) – e.g. for dynamic tariffs, control or load optimisation
- Measurement data pre-processing & edge functionality – e.g. for predictive maintenance

With both adapter types fully certified, network operators and service providers have access to all solutions for scaling during rollout, whether for control in accordance with Section 14a, the digitalisation of the housing industry or new business models – securely via the BSI-compliant infrastructure and without proprietary special solutions.
