That was E-world 2026
E-world remains the central fixture in our industry – for many, the year only really begins here. In 2026, the trade fair once again impressively confirmed its relevance: 33,000 visitors, over 920 exhibitors and countless discussions on the digitalisation of the energy transition.
The focus was on intensive exchange with our customers and partners and concrete solutions for the rollout. Numerous product highlights underscored our innovative strength. The live demos and many valuable discussions over the course of three days confirmed our assessment: the rollout is scaling up.
This year, we are pushing ahead with the following topics:
- SMGWplus – easy controllability updates
- The first solution for translating digital EEBUS control signals to relays: the EEBUS Relais Converter developed in collaboration with Weidmüller
- Latest-generation Nessum broadband powerline for WAN as a Service as an end-to-end solution
- Reliable connectivity across all WAN options, including the new VPN SMGW, with full transparency thanks to our powerful Netzwerk-Management-System
- All paths to control in accordance with Section 14a EnWG and Section 9 EEG with the PPC SMGWplus, the ERC and our CLS Adapter Steuerung or the control box
- Interoperability in all sectors – with our interoperability initiative ‘PPC connect: Gelebte Interoperabilität’
- Flexibly tap into scalable added value in the rollout with the PPC Application Suite erschließen
The PPC stand
More visitors, more exchange – on site and now also virtually
Once again, the number of visitors to our stand has increased this year. Our main concern is to have enough time to welcome you as our guests and to be able to conduct all discussions in the necessary depth and detail.
You can now also visit our stand virtually! Don’t miss out on any news from PPC.
Highlights from PPC
The launch of our EEBUS Relais Converter in collaboration with Weidmüller!
Digital control meets relays: In collaboration with Weidmüller, we presented our new product, the EEBUS Relais Converter (ERC), at E-world.
The ERC is the first solution that enables the translation of digital EEBUS control signals into analogue relay switching commands – in compliance with Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). ‘Control from the SMGW’ with the SMGWplus can thus also be used for analogue circuits, thereby efficiently driving forward the control rollout.
For more information on how the ERC is driving forward the control rollout, please refer to our press release.

Further news in the product area

Simply update controllability
SMGWplus allows § 14a EnWG and § 9 EEG to be implemented at low cost and with little effort. The control function can be easily installed on the SMGW already in the field via a software update. Our live demo demonstrated on site how the fully digital control from SMGWplus works according to the EEBUS standard. We are ready for the control rollout!
Maximum connectivity for every network infrastructure
With the LTE / LTE-450 SMGW including suitable antenna solutions, the VPN SMGW and the BPL SMGW, all WAN variants are covered, ensuring reliable accessibility of all devices. Nessum technology offers additional range for BPL devices while reducing energy consumption. Complemented by the Netzwerk-Management-System, the entire infrastructure remains transparent and under full control at all times during the rollout of smart metering systems. Our guests were able to experience this first-hand in a live demo at our stand.

Live makes the difference
Live demonstrations offer direct insight into the functionality, performance and practicality of our systems. That is why we place great importance on them: they make complex technologies tangible, demonstrate concrete added value and enable questions to be answered immediately on site. That is why numerous demonstrators were the focus of our attention.

One focus was on the control of systems in accordance with Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). In live demonstrations, our guests were able to see how the appropriate control solution can be selected and implemented depending on the installation situation and system type. This clearly showed that grid-friendly control is already possible today thanks to SMGWplus, which can be used flexibly with the ERC or the CLS Adapter Steuerung.
In addition, live demonstrations illustrated how the intelligent metering system can be flexibly expanded as a platform. In addition to classic control applications, multi-use case applications such as submetering, energy management and other value-added services are also part of the future of iMSys as an application suite.

We are driving this potential forward together with our partners in our interoperability initiative ‘PPC connect: Gelebte Interoperabilität’, which already has over 35 partners in its strong network. At E-world, we welcomed new partners to PPC connect, whose collaboration was duly celebrated with the presentation of a certificate and a trophy. With PPC connect, we promote open interoperability and create a flexible, expandable basis for future-proof and sustainable solutions. The latest news about PPC connect can be found on our LinkedIn channel.
