Interoperability in action: PPC connect live at smarter E Europe

Three exciting days at the trade fair, numerous technical discussions and many visits to our PPC connect partners: smarter E Europe 2026 was once again an important meeting place for PPC, focusing on the digitalisation of the energy transition. Our focus was clearly on solutions for digital control in accordance with Section 14a of the Energy Economy Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), as well as the direct marketing of small-scale installations. With our live demonstration of the SMGWplus and the EEBUS Relay Converter, we showed how both new and existing installations can be easily and interoperably connected to and controlled by the smart metering system.

However, a topic such as control also highlights that, as a hardware manufacturer and solutions provider, we cannot take the key steps towards digitalisation alone. Strong partnerships, in which everyone can play to their core strengths, are crucial. Successful collaborative solutions can only emerge if interfaces are kept open and solutions are designed with interoperability in mind. This is what our initiative, PPC connect, stands for.

Visits to our partners’ exhibition stands underline the philosophy behind PPC connect: true interoperability is achieved through close collaboration. Within our partner network, we test and validate the seamless integration of hardware and software solutions and continuously develop them further. In this way, we provide investment security for our customers and, together, accelerate the implementation of an open, future-proof energy infrastructure.
