The network management system (NMS) from Power Plus Communications has reached a new milestone: over 1.2 million smart meter gateways (SMGWs) have now been successfully integrated into our network management system – and the trend is rising! The NMS provides centralised, highly secure fault management and ensures the reliable operation of the communication infrastructure in the smart metering system. It monitors and manages the network connections of the gateways in real time, thus laying the foundation for an efficient, stable and comprehensively controllable energy world. Communication between the NMS and the smart meter gateways is carried out in accordance with DIN VDE V 0418-63-12. NMS users can access this information in a portal with just a few clicks. PPC customers have been benefiting from our two-tier model for some time now: the free version provides the most important basic functions, while the advanced version offers extensive analysis options if required.
How do smart meter gateways find their way onto the platform? Through the NMS Connector app. This enables on-site technicians to assess the success of the installation and NMS integration at a glance and document it directly in the app.
