E-world remains the central focal point of our industry—for many, the year doesn’t really begin until this event. In 2026, the trade show once again impressively demonstrated its relevance: 37,000 visitors, over 1,150 exhibitors, and countless discussions centered on the digital transformation of the energy transition.
The focus was on in-depth discussions with our customers and partners, as well as concrete solutions for the rollout. Numerous product highlights underscored our innovative strength. The live demos and many valuable discussions over the course of three days confirmed our assessment: The rollout is scaling up.
This year, we are driving the following topics forward:
- SMGWplus – Easily Update Control Capabilities
- The first solution for converting digital EEBUS control signals to relays: The EEBUS Relay Converter, developed in collaboration with Weidmüller
- Broadband powerline of the latest Nessum generation for WAN as a Service as an end-to-end solution
- Reliable connectivity across all WAN options, including the new VPN SMGW, with full transparency thanks to our powerful network management system
- All methods for control in accordance with Section 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) using the PPC SMGWplus, the ERC, and our CLS Adapter Control or the control box
- Interoperability across all sectors—with our interoperability initiative “PPC connect: Interoperability in Action”
- Flexibly unlock scalable added value during the rollout with the PPC Application Suite
The PPC Booth
More Visitors, More Interaction—In Person and Now Virtually, Too
Once again this year, the number of visitors to our booth has increased. Our top priority is to have enough time to welcome you as our guests and to conduct all discussions with the professional depth they deserve.
You can now visit our booth virtually as well! Don’tmiss any news from PPC.
PPC Highlights
The launch of our EEBUS Relay Converter in collaboration with Weidmüller!
Digital control meets relays: In collaboration with Weidmüller, we presented our new product, the EEBUS Relay Converter (ERC), at E-world.
The ERC is the first solution that enables the conversion of digital EEBUS control signals into analog relay switching commands—in compliance with Section 14a of the German Energy Economy Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG). “Control from the SMGW” using the SMGWplus can thus also be used for analog circuits, thereby efficiently advancing the control rollout.
For more information on how the ERC is driving the control rollout, please see our press release.

Easily Update Control Capabilities
With the SMGWplus, § 14a EnWG and § 9 EEG can be implemented at low cost and with minimal effort. The control function can be easily installed on the SMGW already in the field via a software update. Our live demo showed on-site how the fully digital control system from the SMGWplus works according to the EEBUS standard. We’re ready for the control rollout!
Maximum Connectivity for Any Network Infrastructure
With the LTE / LTE-450 SMGW , including compatible antenna solutions, the VPN SMGW and the BPL SMGW , all WAN variants are covered, ensuring reliable connectivity for all devices. Nessum technology provides BPL devices with additional range while reducing energy consumption. Complemented by the network management system , the entire infrastructure remains transparent and fully under control at all times during the rollout of smart metering systems. Our guests were able to experience this firsthand during a live demo at our booth.
Live Makes All the Difference
Live demos offer a direct look at how our systems work, their performance, and their practical applicability. That’s why we place such a high value on them: they make complex technologies tangible, highlight concrete benefits, and allow questions to be answered immediately on-site. That’s why we focused on numerous demonstration units.
A key focus was on the control of systems in accordance with Section 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Act (EEG). During the live demos, our guests were able to see how the appropriate control solution can be selected and implemented depending on the installation situation and system type. This clearly demonstrated that grid-friendly control works thanks to SMGWplus, which can be used flexibly with the ERC or the CLS Adapter Control is already a reality today.
In addition, the live demos illustrated how the intelligent metering system can be flexibly expanded as a platform. In addition to traditional control applications, multi-use-case applications such as submetering, energy management, and other value-added services are also part of the future of iMSys as an application suite.
We are driving this potential forward together with the partners in our Interop initiative “PPC connect: Interoperability in Action” , whose strong network already includes over 35 partners. At E-world, we welcomed additional partners to PPC connect, and their collaboration was duly celebrated with the presentation of a certificate and a trophy. Through PPC connect, we promote open interoperability and create a flexible, scalable foundation for future-proof and sustainably implementable solutions. The latest news about PPC connect can be found on our LinkedIn channel.
