Smart Grids are an integral part of fulfilling the obligatory EU-Directive 2006/32/EC Energy end-use efficiency and energy service.

Smart Grids will be developed in line with obligatory Smart Metering structures.

They will involve consumers as well as decentralised and consumer-oriented energy generation units.

BPL communication will play a substantial role in the structure of intelligent electricity grids.

Our BPL-technology is based on the worldwide standard for data transmission, internet protocol (IP) and open interfaces allowing us to provide flexibility and future security.

With BPL, utilities can develop a standardised communication platform that enables real-time access to all Smart Grid applications.

Smart Grids are a key technology for decentralised energy systems, which smooth the integration of the customers in market places and supporting energy efficiency and cost reductions in energy distributed networks.

Just as mobile phones and the internet have spawned many new applications and products since their introduction, Smart Grids are set to do the same for the energy industry.

Smart Metering and Smart Grids are vitally important for the future direction of our energy supply systems. They will open up new products and services, lead to cost savings and provide benefits from higher energy efficiency.
