Some components for the “Smart Grid” are already available, others are still in the development phase. Until now, integrating the individual components has been difficult, but PPC's solution closes these gaps. Our BPL system functions independently of the meter manufacturer and its open-standard interface allows the integration of meters of all types: electricity, gas, water and heat.
Existing low and medium voltage power grids are used with BPL in the frequency range of approx. 1 to 30 MHz for the real-time bi-directional data communication. The BPL gateway gathers data from intelligent meters in the electricity grid within seconds and makes power consumption data availabe for immediate use. The customer can also monitor their data from anywhere, for example, via a secure internet connection.
