BPL system
PPC's BPL system is the latest stage in the development of Access Broadband over Powerline technology (BPL). Based on the 200Mbps standard, our BPL technology turns existing electricity grids into an internet protocol-based communication platform. With BPL, every existing power line becomes a broadband data interface and power grids turn into Smart Grids. Challenges posed by Smart Metering, load management, electro-mobility and the integration of new applications are becoming manageable with our BPL technology.
Our BPL system enables broadband data transmission with 200 Mbps gross data rate on low (230/400V) and medium voltage (1 to 24kV) electricity networks. The BPL works in line with the operational standards used by electric utilities. It does not affect the controlled operation of any power grid. Dynamic routing between the different units ensures optimal connection quality at all times, even during switching processes in the distribution network.
PPC's technology enables the rapid and easy set-up of extended BPL networks. And for optimal network operation, the network management system supports the permanent control and central configuration of all system components.
